Nervous System Regulation 101
Understanding Skillful Modulation
Sunday June 28th, 10am-11:30am
Hosted at Movement SpecialistS in Santa Fe, NM
$60/ PERSON
Most nervous system classes focus on calming down, slowing down, and resting. But true regulation is more nuanced than simply trying to “relax.”
In this workshop, you’ll learn how the brain uses sensory information to predict safety or threat and how specific inputs can help shift those patterns in practical, individualized ways.
Using principles from applied neurology, we’ll explore how systems like vision, respiration, vestibular input, cranial nerves, and proprioception can influence your nervous system, energy, emotions, and overall sense of well-being.
What You’ll Learn:
• Why nervous system regulation looks different for everyone
• How the brain predicts threat (even when it doesn’t feel like obvious anxiety or stress)
• The role of sensory systems in creating a felt sense of safety
• Practical tools using breath, movement, vision, balance, and sensory input
• How to assess whether a tool is actually helping your nervous system
• Why “more” is not always better and the importance of minimum effective dose
